Turning off the Mic; the Future of CWK

Turning off the Mic; the Future of CWK

Hello CWK family and fans!

It was almost four years ago to the day that Dan and I were hanging out and dreaming up what has now become the Star Wars podcast network, Coffee With Kenobi. Through that time I’ve had experiences I could have never dreamt of, will never forget, and will continue to have. I’ve had the pleasure of becoming friends with folks through fandom, and who I now talk to daily.

However, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking for the upcoming 2017 year, and how my life has changed over the last two years or so personally. I feel as though my life is moving in a new direction. Mostly this has to do with my career, but also my fandom, and yet further still and most importantly, my family.

All that having been said, I will be stepping down from Coffee With Kenobi as co-host on May 4th, 2017. Coffee With Kenobi has been a huge blessing in my life and quite honestly has helped me to reach goals I can literally say I never would have had, had I not been involved with it. My confidence level is much higher, my tact of speaking my mind has been sharpened, and I have gained experiences that will live with me forever.

You may have a few questions running through your head. I’ve done my best to answer them below.

Q: What about Dan?

A: He will continue to captain the ship toward new horizons! This was a decision we both made together and our friendship will champion on as CWK grows in new ways! The format might be different, but the heart is still true!

Q: Wait does this mean Cory is not Snoke?

A: Why would you rule that out? #mysterious

Q: What does this mean for the future of CWK?

A: Unlimited possibilities! While I’ll will be stepping down in my role, it only opens the door for new ways fans can get involved with CWK! All will be revealed at Celebration: Orlando 2017; Coffee With Kenobi will go on!

Q: Where will CWK get it’s designs from?

A: Still me. Even though I’m no longer in the co-host capacity, I’m still co-creator and designer extraordinaire.

I would encourage those you haven’t already, to download or stream our latest show Coffee With Kenobi #64. It’s a great show with guest Stephen Stanton and we talk about the future of CWK. Above all, I want to do this the right way because I respect all of you and our show so much. I appreciate all the support and love you’ve given to CWK, and continue to show us.

May the Force be with you!

All my best to you, Cory. It will be strange not hearing your voice on future podcasts (after May 4), but I definitely understand your decision. Sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the days of the year to do everything we’d like to do, be involved in everything in which we’d like to be involved. As Leia said to (her then unknown brother) Luke (in ANH): “(You’ve) got to follow (your) own path.”
Godspeed. Good luck. And, as always, MTFBWY. 🙂

I’ve never heard more than 5 minutes of one podcast, and it was the best 5 minutes I ever heard. I will miss your voice.
