Star Wars Rebels The Visual Guide is a stunning, optimistic harbinger of what we can expect to look for from the much-anticipated television series. Adam Bray is the author and guide of this incredibly detailed book, with gorgeous illustrations, character descriptions, and everything you will need to prepare yourself for this promising new series coming this October from Disney and Disney XD. There is much to savor here, and the only challenge is that the reader will be even more excited for what is to come from the next chapter in the Star Wars saga. Anticipation makes the heart grow fonder!
The 128 page book features stunning images of the characters that have slowly been revealed by Lucasfilm, while revealing new characters previously undiscovered. There are some interesting plot points and character connections which could be classified as spoilers for the television show, so you may want to tread lightly if you are not a fan of discovering some of the information before watching the series. However, this just added to my enjoyment of the book; I am not typically a “spoiler guy” per se, and The Visual Guide just had me clamoring for more; more pages, more info, more Rebels!
The book also manages to provide quality entertainment and information for fans of all ages, which, I suspect, is exactly how the series will play out. The detailed pseudo blueprints of the weapons and vehicles are great, and bring the verisimilitude that Star Wars has become synonymous with. Just wait until you see Ezra’s lightsaber! The fan discussion and analysis that will come from the Visual Guide is going to be spectacular, thanks to Adam’s work.
We also get an intro from Dave Filoni, and some behind the scenes imagery and text that show how much love and passion is going into this series. It seems reasonable to ascertain that this book will be a staple at the viewer’s side as each new chapter is revealed to television audiences. Adam Bray has provided the Bible of Star Wars Rebels, and if you are even remotely intrigued by the upcoming series, this is the book for you.
