Today at Star Wars Celebration Japan, during the “Disney Experiences: Building the Galaxy with Walt Disney Imagineering” panel, we learned about some exciting new changes to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, starting May 22, 2026, at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
Choose Your Destiny on Smugglers Run – Now Featuring Coruscant
- Beginning May 22, 2026, guests at Walt Disney World and Disneyland will be in control of their own destination aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Building on updates first shared at SXSW—where Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor were announced—Imagineers revealed another location: the city planet, Coruscant!

Engineering Role Expands
- This new update will allow the engineer positions to interact with and care for Grogu.
- None of this would be possible without Disney’s partnership with Industrial Light and Magic (ILM). With their help, you are in control of your own destiny on the attraction. This technology is all built on Unreal Engine 5 by Epic Games, which are the same tools ILM uses on the Disney+ show, The Mandalorian.
New details on the Mandalorian-Inspired Storyline Debuts
- The attraction’s storyline will follow a different path from The Mandalorian and Grogu film.
- In this new story arc, Hondo Ohnaka catches wind of a deal on Tatooine between ex-Imperial officers and pirates, setting the stage for a high-stakes chase across the galaxy. Guests will team up with Mando and Grogu to track them down and claim a bounty in a dynamic, galaxy-spanning adventure.
