The WCHS Book and Game Clubs present S.T.E.A.M into Star Wars: A Celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math, Reading and Writing on January 11 from 9:30 to 1:00 at Washington Community High School in Washington, IL. Bring the whole family to join in live podcast recordings with Dan Z, host of Coffee With Kenobi, and Greg McLaughlin, host of the Rebel Base Card Podcast. Visit with local science fiction authors Cory Clubb, Andy Zach and Martin Matthews. Also, writers from Fantha Tracks (Megan Cullinan and Daniel Lo), IGN, TatooineTimes.com (Ross Hollebon), and StarWars.com will be on hand. Visit with and check out the work of local artists, Kiley Beecher, Mitchell Blumenshine, Jeremy Zentner and Cameron Johnson. The WCHS Science Club will be demonstrating Star Wars science projects, and the WCHS robotics team and the Central Intermediate First Lego League teams will be on hand with their robots. Play games, win prizes, shop the Scholastic Book fair, visit with Zeek’s Comics and Games and watch Star Wars game demonstrations. Try your hand at some Star Wars arts and crafts and get your picture with members of the 501st Imperial Legion and the Mandalorian Mercs. Come learn, play, read, create and have some fun that is from a galaxy far, far away!
