(PASADENA, CA) – Bricks & Minifigs® (BAM) Pasadena will open Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 350 S. Lake Ave, Suite 110, Pasadena, CA 91101. With over 100 locations in the US and Canada, it is the largest franchised toy store of its kind, specializing in the buying, selling, and trading of new and used LEGO® sets, bulk bricks, and minifigures (“minifigs”). The store is located at The Shops on Lake Avenue inside The Colonnade Mall and is owned and operated by Betty & Rob Poquez, local residents of the Pasadena area.
In addition, BAM will provide an event space for birthday parties or special LEGO-themed events, including after-school robotics clubs, “Make-and-Take” events, Brick Derby races, and more. The space will be available for corporate workshops, mini-retreats, and team-building off-site meetings.
BAM has built its brand based on three principles:
-
REBUILD: With tens of thousands of pieces to choose from, customers will have what they need to rebuild their favorite sets or create their original projects.
-
REUSE: BAM buys, sells, and trades everything LEGO.
-
REIMAGINE: Staff members are trained to assist customers of all ages to create unique and imaginative masterpieces.
“I’m very excited to bring the Bricks & Minifigs experience to Pasadena,” says co-owner Betty Poquez. “Our store is more than just a place to buy LEGO sets. It’s a place where imaginations come to life, friendships are built, and creativity knows no bounds. We can’t wait to open our doors to the community and provide this forum for fellow creators.”
In honor of the annual Star Wars Day celebration “May the Fourth,” the first 100 customers through the door during the grand opening will receive their choice of a free Light Side or Dark Side customized Bricks & Minifigs Pasadena signature minifigure. Actor and sci-fi icon Ahmed Best (Star Wars Episodes I-III, The Mandalorian) will make a special appearance to do a meet-and-greet with fans, celebrating the release of his LEGO set, BARC Speeder Escape 75378. The LEGO set recreates the pivotal scene from The Mandalorian (Season 3, Episode 4) where Jedi Kelleran Beq saves Grogu from Order 66. Kelleran Beq is a character Best helped create for the 2020 kids competition show Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge. Promotions and giveaways will take place throughout the day in the store, such as raffles, prize drawings, and more.
The LEGO pop culture experience not only includes the quintessential building bricks, but various movies and television programs as well, such as The LEGO Movie, The LEGO Batman Movie, The LEGO Ninjago Movie, and LEGO Masters hosted by Will Arnett, which recently finished its fourth season.
