Vanity Fair revealed the cover for its June issue yesterday, and it features some of the stars of The Force Awakens — John Boyega (Finn), BB-8 (himself), Daisy Ridley (Rey), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and Harrison Ford (Han Solo) are pictured in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon.
Today there is a behind-the-scenes video of the photo shoot — which was conducted on-set by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. In the video we see Adam Driver, his role in the movie confirmed (although we probably guessed long ago!), and Lupita N’Yongo – whose role has not been announced, but we get a few clues as to what it entails.
Check it out below:
Here’s the full cover, in case you missed it.
The inside spread will feature other cast members – both returning and new – and it promises more looks at the set, including the many practical effects that were used during filming. That should alleviate any lingering concerns over CGI.
If you sign up for Vanity Fair’s newsletter by 8pm EST, you’ll get an exclusive image from the shoot e-mailed directly to your inbox on Tuesday at 4pm EST.
The digital issue goes on sale May 7, and the physical copy will hit newsstands on May 12.
