With the upcoming release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, I thought it would be fun to re-visit some of my favorite quotes from Han Solo in the Star Wars movies and also provide a guide for how these quotes can be used in our daily lives. I’ve got a really good feeling about this, and we haven’t got time for anything else anyway.

“You’re throwing away a fortune here. Don’t be a fool!”

What your co-workers really mean when they say, “Oh! So you’re going to see Solo three times opening weekend AND taking a day off work?”

“You love him, don’t you?”

How your friends and family respond when they hear you talk about Han Solo.

“I’m so glad you’re here to tell us these things.”

When the office story topper lets you know that a new Star Wars movie is coming out this month.

“What a wonderful smell you’ve discovered.”

This can be used when someone brings stinky food into the theater. There is always “that” person.

“We’re home.”

Can be used to express your excitement about having a Star Wars movie once again released in May, although I personally love the December releases.

“Come on. Let’s keep a little optimism here.”

Use this when someone tells you it’s a mistake to re-cast Han Solo.

“Oh yeah? Watch this!”

See the previous comment.

“Are you sure you’re up for this?”

What you ask your significant other after you tell them you bought tickets to multiple showings of Solo for opening weekend.

“Boring conversation anyway.”

How you can respond anytime anyone tries to explain to you how Disney has ruined Star Wars.

“Han Solo, captain of the Millennium Falcon.”

What I like to use when someone asks me who I want to be when I grow up.

“I used to be.”

How I respond when someone asks me if I am skeptical that Lucasfilm and Ron Howard can pull off a young Han Solo movie. I couldn’t be more excited now!

“Boba Fett! Boba Fett!”

How you can answer when someone asks which character you hope to (or hope to not) make an appearance in Solo.

“Over my dead body.”

Use when someone tells you that you should only see a Star Wars movie once in the theater.

“You think a princess and a guy like me….?

How I proposed to my wife. Not really, but I kinda wish I had.

“You’re gonna die here you know. Convenient.”

Use this when someone tells you they are going to boycott Solo and you want to let them know how it will end for them on that hill.

“I love you.”

What I think we will all be saying to Alden Ehrenreich after seeing Solo.

Super list, Ryder! 🙂 I found this read quite entertaining. 🙂

While it didn’t make your list — some might say it’s too overused — one of my favorite Han Solo lines is “Never tell me the odds.” Why? Simply because I don’t like to be told that it is unlikely something can’t be accomplished. Anything is possible. That’s my mantra. 🙂 [Even though one of my daughters would say otherwise. 😉 ha ha She thinks that because I throw a question or two at her when she wants to try something I am questioning whether she can accomplish *whatever*. Quite the contrary. My query/ies are just my way of seeing if she’s thought about different tacks, different possibilities (to accomplish *whatever*) or whether the ultimate outcome is worth all the effort she will have to put in to get to that end goal. I never would discourage her to do anything.]

And what were the exact words an older, wiser Han Solo said to Finn aboard the “Millennium Falcon”? [I could pop in “TFA” … but that would require getting up from my comfortable chair. 😉 lol] Something akin to “Women. They always know.” They do. Why try to fool us? 😉

Here’s a query for you — were you really skeptical that Ron Howard [and Lucasfilm] could pull of a Han Solo film? When I heard that Ron Howard was brought on board, I was absolutely ecstatic!!! 🙂 He’s a fan, and he’s a really good storyteller. I will be surprised if he disappoints all of us.

“… unlikely something CAN be accomplished.” Every once in a while I will edit myself. 😉
