Lucasfilm is teaming up with CBS’ The Big Bang Theory and ABC’s The Goldbergs for this year’s annual ‘May the Fourth (as in ‘May the Fourth be With You!’) Star Wars Day’ celebration.

The special episode of The Big Bang Theory, “The Proton Transmogrification,” will feature special guest Bob Newhart as the childhood mentor of Sheldon (Jim Parsons). A special effects team from Lucasfilm’s Industrial Light & Magic will be recreating the swamp planet of Dagobah from The Empire Strikes Back. The episode is scheduled for May 1 on CBS at 8/7c.

Over on ABC, The Goldbergs will have their own Star Wars themed episode, “A Wrestler Named Goldberg.” The episode will feature Adam (Sean Giambrone) and Erica (Hayley Orrantia) encountering costumed Star Wars fans while waiting in line to see The Return of the Jedi on opening day. The episode is scheduled for May 6 on ABC at 9/8c.
