The Official Star Wars YouTube Account has uploaded a video of bloopers and outtakes from Attack of the Clones for the amusement of Star Wars fans everywhere. 🙂

From the video description:

Originally an Easter Egg found on the first DVD edition of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, this collection of a bloopers and outtakes shows that even the most powerful Jedi can awkwardly trip and fall. Again. And again.

The video opens with a take from Anakin (Hayden Christensen) and Padmé’s (Natalie Portman) discussion to go rescue Obi-Wan on Geonosis, in which the Senator tells the Jedi to “let go of me.” Which he’d already done.

Aside from acting miscues, there are also technical errors, including Christensen pulling a lever out of a speeder console and Artoo getting stuck maneuvering off a ship, among others. Then there’s the falling, and lots of it.

Portman takes a dive on a blue-screen set during a Naboo sequence; Christensen trips over an unseen object while shooting the final duel with Count Dooku; he trips again while running on the Coruscant street set; Jango Fett slips on a water-soaked floor, vanishing off-screen; and the Chosen One trips, again, running out of Padmé’s sleeping quarters. So much for Jedi reflexes.

The compilation ends with producer Rick McCallum thoughtfully answering a question — until finally admitting he doesn’t quite remember what he was asked.

Sit back and enjoy a chuckle or two!

The parts with Hayden falling are the funniest, especially the one in the crowd when he trips over nothing.

Sadly, I’ll have to wait until I get to a better location to watch the video. I don’t know what it is about bloopers, but they certainly can be a fun part of the whole filmmaking process. As much as she always enjoyed making her own movies (she now has switched gears to post-production), my oldest daughter always said the blooper reels she ALWAYS put together were her favorite parts of her filming projects. (Sadly[?], yours truly is featured frequently. lol) I think we all like to laugh. It truly is a wonderful feeling. 🙂
