During the press tour currently underway, Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson discussed the length of the first cut of TLJ. Just briefly, Johnson said the original length of The Last Jedi clocked in at well over three hours before being edited down to the current runtime of 150 minutes — making it the longest Star Wars films to date. Expect a host of deleted scenes to accompany the Blu-ray release!
Johnson also touched a bit on his plans for the recently announced Star Wars trilogy he will be developing for Lucasfilm.
