Star Wars Jedi Master Magazine Review

Star Wars Jedi Master Magazine Review

Star Wars Jedi Master is the latest offering from Titan Magazines, and it is designed for younglings and padawans — although this grown woman thoroughly enjoyed herself! Through quizzes, tests of skill, and a variety of puzzles — and advice from Jedi Master Yoda — you grow in the Force as you progress through the magazine toward the final challenge.

This first issue focuses on Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and features profiles of characters, species, events, and locations from the film. Even midichlorians get their due! The magazine is generous in size and vibrant in color. It’s easy to read and navigate, and it speaks to kids on their level without feeling ‘dumbed down.’

There is a double-sided full-color poster in the center of the magazine, featuring heroes on one side, and a villain on the other. There are only two advertisements in the body of the issue, both Star Wars-related, so they’re unobtrusive.

When you’ve completed your final test — a Jedi Trial of sorts — you are presented with a Jedi Training Certificate signed by Jedi Master Mace Windu himself! The certificate is removable and suitable for framing, too.

The answers to the quizzes, tests, and puzzles are provided at the back of the issue, but don’t even think about cheating! That path leads to the Dark Side…..

The next issue, due January 19, 2016, will turn its focus to Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.

Star Wars Jedi Master is available on newsstands for $4.99 an issue, or you can subscribe here (US and Canada only).

Thank you to Titan Magazines for providing a copy of this magazine for review purposes.
