So in my last blog I looked back at my favorite celebrity encounters from the famed Star Wars Weekends. This week, I am helping you with your plans by going over some of the things you must do during Star Wars Weekends (SWW).
Here we go!
5) Legends of the Force Motorcade. Disney is known for their parades and this annual Star Wars Weekends parade doesn’t disappoint. Not only does it give you a glimpse of the celebrities in attendance, the parade is filled with Disney characters dressed as Star Wars characters, and are joined by the men and women of the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion groups. Combined with the music of John Williams, the parade is a must do for SWW.
4) Star Wars characters are scattered throughout the park all through the day and you have to take a moment to get your photo snapped with them. Whether it’s Darth Vader himself or Chip and Dale dressed as Ewoks, this in an opportunity not to be missed.
3) Autograph sessions. If you are an early riser and are lucky enough to score a coveted fast pass, you will have the opportunity to meet a Star Wars celebrity. From the cast of Rebels, to the cast of The Clone Wars, to the cast of the movies themselves, you get a few moments one on one to talk, get your picture taken, and have either a headshot signed or some memorabilia you bring signed. Sometimes, depending on the star, you might even get both! Just make sure you get there early to get in line. Remember, the bigger the celebrity, the earlier you need to arrive.
2) Obi-Wan and Beyond. This show by SWW host James Arnold Taylor is a huge must! A shortened version of his stage show Talking To Myself, James shows the audience just how talented he truly is, performing a multitude of voices in a variety of scenarios and settings. He will have you laughing and appreciating the art of voice over by the time he’s done. So definitely work this masterpiece into your schedule for sure.
So this brings us down to our final must do. My #1 must do can be done anywhere. There is no fast pass needed, no money to be spent, and no lines to wait in. Lord knows we stand in too many lines to begin with. My #1 thing you must do at Star Wars Weekends is….make new friends! Meeting new Star Wars fans is the best part of Star Wars Weekends! You all already have a common interest in the Saga to begin with, so you build from there. I have met some great people just by starting conversations in line. Cody, his wife Jen (who makes killer cinnamon rolls), and their daughter Izzy; my photographer and videographer Gian whose videos you saw last year and will see again this year; to Tim and other members of the Rebel Legion and 501st Legion. Star Wars brings us all together so don’t be afraid to strike up a conversation with anyone, especially me if you find me there!!!
There is so much more to do there that I can’t include in this blog, so believe me you are never bored. Keep your eyes here at Coffee With Kenobi for the latest SWW details and, of course, my reports through the weekends.

May the Force be with you all and remember This is the podcast you are looking for!
