There he is! Our new Han Solo! According the The Hollywood Reporter, actor Alden Ehrenreich wowed everyone with his audition and beat out 2,500 other potential Hans, including Taron Egerton (Kingsman) and Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction). Probably best known for his most recent role in Hail Ceasar, Alden is 26 years old and was discovered after Steven Spielberg saw video of the young man at a bat mitzvah. Not a bad way to start your career, is it?
The Han Solo standalone film is being directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord (The Lego Movie) and is scheduled for release in 2018. In the meantime, Ehrenreich has just finished filming an Iraq War drama, The Yellow Birds.
In case you missed it, Chris Miller tweeted out this tease on May the 4th:

Excited yet?! Harrison Ford left behind some big shoes to fill, and undoubtedly the powers that be are confident they can be filled by Ehrenreich. They certainly hit the mark with the casting for The Force Awakens and Rogue One!
May the Force be with you, Alden! Yeah, I know… hokey religions and all that. 😉Powered by Sidelines
