Legendary composer John Williams was recently interviewed by KUSC’s Jim Svejda about his scores for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and The Post. Williams discusses the process of shaping a score, and the uniqueness of doing so for Star Wars. He talks of his delight at composing for Daisy Ridley’s Rey, the loss of Carrie Fisher, and his 51 Oscar nominations. He also shares his hope for rounding out his work on Star Wars saga films with Episode IX in 2019.
