Recently Mark Hamill took time out from filming the next installment in the Star Wars saga to speak to students at The Cambridge Union Society. He spoke a bit about his early life and in particular his iconic role as Luke Skywalker, up to and including The Force Awakens.

The full video will be released at the end of the Cambridge term, but you can enjoy the highlights below:

What a wonderful video. 🙂 It always is such a pleasure to listen to Mark Hamill speak — whether in a venue such as this college campus visit or when he is on stage at one of the Fan Celebrations. He truly is a wonderful storyteller. 🙂

I love the story about his and his wife’s meeting with George Lucas. It’s great to catch people by surprise! His daughter (and GL’s daughters, as well) may have been sent away for a while, but I bet it was a treat for Chelsea to be her father’s assistant while filming of Episode VII was going on. 🙂 (Yes, she’s listed in the credits. 🙂 ) It must have been a wonderful father/daughter bonding experience. 🙂

I hope the entire chat becomes available at some point. This was very well done.

    MTFBWY 🙂

I love how down to earth Mark is. He doesn’t sugar coat anything and he is very much like his character in Star Wars. I’ve always been a big fan of his, loved him in Avatar: Lost Airbender, Batman the Animated series and of course The Flash. I watched him reprise his roll in The Flash, the live action series and of course, he was brilliant. I enjoyed listening to this talk. It was neat to hear his point of view on everything and his thoughts.
