Harrison Ford will be receiving the Hollywood Career Award at the 17th annual Hollywood Film Awards on October 21, 2013. Although not a televised event, it is the first big award show of the season and many previous winners have gone on to win big at the Oscars. Ford was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his role as John Book in the movie ‘Witness.’ That was way back in 1986. After his critically acclaimed turn as Branch Rickey in the baseball drama ’42’ earlier this year, there is some buzz that he may be up for another Oscar in short order.
Harrison Ford has starred in some of the most successful movies of all time – from Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark, to Blade Runner and The Fugitive. At 71 years of age, his career is vast and his importance as an actor has long been established. He’s a legend and he deserves all the honors he can get!
