Harrison-Ford-17

Harrison Ford, Han Solo’s alter ego, was injured on the set of Star Wars Episode VII today. Exactly what happened is not known at this time, but some reports indicate that a door fell on him, possibly fracturing his ankle. Unconfirmed reports say he was shooting a scene on the Millennium Falcon, but stunts were not involved.

Disney issued the following statement:

“Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates.”

A representative for the British Health and Safety Executive said that they were made aware of an incident at Pinewood Studios in London, and were investigating. A local police report states that a “garage door” injured a 71 year-old man, but the report doesn’t specify that it was Ford.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available. In the meantime, all of us here at Coffee With Kenobi send our thoughts and prayers for a speedy and full recovery to Mr. Ford. The Force will be with him…. Always! (Yeah, I know… Hokey religions and all that… but I doubt he’s allowed a blaster in the hospital. 😉 )
