There are reports tonight that Harrison Ford has been critically injured in a plane crash. Ford was piloting a small plane when it crash landed on a golf course in Venice, CA. He was the only person on board and no one on the ground was injured.
Ford, who was able to walk away from the crash, was stabilized on the scene by two doctors and transported to a local hospital with head injuries. We’ll update when more information is known.
Please keep Mr. Ford in your thoughts and prayers.
Reports now indicate that Mr. Ford sustained fair to moderate injuries to his head.
“We are very thankful that the passenger had [only] very moderate injuries,” Los Angeles Assistant Fire Chief Patrick Butler said
He was flying a vintage World War II-era plane. In audio from the control tower you can hear Mr. Ford reports that his engines have failed and he requests permission to return to the airport.
Here’s an update from Ben Ford, Harrison’s son.
At the hospital. Dad is ok. Battered, but ok! He is every bit the man you would think he is. He is an incredibly strong man.
