Hi guys – sorry I’ve been quiet. Been busy, but catching up with the podcasts.
Just to chuck my two cents into the pile – we live in not only the most cynical age of our time, but also one in which we think we are entitled to everything. It’s a generational thing. As far as fans go (and I count myself among some of the biggest), we have ZERO rights. Any producer that listens to fan suggestions is not worth his or her fat check at the end of the day – the movie business is about making money, not keeping us happy, and the whining that issues from fan sites and blogs does little to affect the business of a film. Fans hate to admit it, but they are still a minority when it comes to the bigger picture. Sure, we all have our wish lists, but they should remain relegated to the owner’s blog where they can be anonymously torn to shreds or given a hearty thumbs up by the few hundred visitors who will read it. JJ felt obligated to respond to that non-nonsensical ‘4 rules’ video, but I’m pretty sure he won’t let it influence what he is doing.
Oh, did I just rant? I think I ranted. Sorry about that.

      I echo Neil’s sentiments! 🙂 Well put!!!
All I’d like to see in the film are (1) an excellent story, (2) great action, (3) some outstanding special effects, (4) R2 and C3PO, and last — but certainly not least! — (5) Mark Hamill (aka Luke Skywalker 😉 ). <3 That's my wish list. JJ Abrams and crew can do with it as they see fit. 🙂
