Coffee With Kenobi Presents Darth T-Bone’s San Diego Comic Con Coverage

Coffee With Kenobi Presents Darth T-Bone’s San Diego Comic Con Coverage

Troy's CWK Logo

Starting this afternoon Brandy and I will be partaking in another adventure at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. This year is my 10th and Brandy’s 9th. Over the years we’ve seen quite a bit, met so many great people, and maybe bought a few things. After all those years we are always ready to come back the next year.

This year promises to be a new challenge. My right hand is currently in a cast, so this will be interesting. In fact, I’ve typed this post with my voice. It’s not as easy as it sounds. Luckily, I can still swype on the phone pretty well.

I will do my best to gather what ever information I can get. Although it seems Disney is still tight-lipped until Celebration next year, that won’t stop us. There is a panel on the new Rebels series, collectible updates, and new products on the floor. As a collector I’d tend to spend a lot of time on the floor. This year we’re trying to get into a few panels, get some hard to get exclusives, and maintain our sanity. All three of those are nearly impossible.

I’ll be posting what I can get a hold of on Coffee with Kenobi’s facebook page.

At least you aren’t letting your broken bones stop you! I say wheel a shopping cart through the aisles to collect your wares! 🙂 That way people will move out of your way, and you’ll have a handy receptacle into which to tote your goodies. 🙂

While I have an idea of what you’re enduring during this period where one of your appendages is not working properly, at least it was not my MAIN, dominant hand that was affected when I broke my arm this past spring. I did get to “enjoy” doing everything one-handed — which was not so much an enjoyment as it was a lesson in perseverance and improvisation. 😉 No, I still can’t use my left arm completely, but at least I now can use both hands to type. Small steps. Small steps.

Have an outstanding time at ComicCon!!! 🙂 I can’t wait to hear about your findings, your exploits, and, in general, what you and Brandy encounter. 😀

I was Darth Vader for Halloween when I was 5 almost 6 (1978). My mom wouldn't stand for the plastic bag Vader outfit which we bought for the mask. She made me a costume while my dad made me a lightsaber. At that time no one had a lightsaber. It was an old Ever/Ready flashlight - remember the classic all chrome with the red cap on the end? He electrical-taped a clear golf club tube - the ones that go into golf bags - onto the lens. The costume was a fabric cape and a shirt complete with chest box made from a box top covered in fabric and felt squares. Of the 5 or 6 Vaders on the block that year I was the coolest. Now I am in my 40's, have my awesome and supportive wife Brandy, an impressive collection, friends that I consider family, and not ashamed to be a lifelong Geek.
