I just listened to the 2 podcasts — the interview you guys conducted with Martha Wells and the longer podcast with Megan — and I have to tell you both (Dan & Cory) … what fun listening to the interviews! I’m glad I already had read “Razor’s Edge” (although it was a while ago) so that I really could connect with everyone’s insight into the book and other topics Star Wars.
(side note: Dan, I found it rather humorous what your professor said to you about Leia being a strong character and your thesis. 😉 I disagree with her assessment. Leia is a very strong character, but, like you and Cory noted, how one sees anything Star Wars really does have to do with one’s point of view.)
I hope you fellas have the opportunity to chat with other novelists — including those who wrote books a while ago. 🙂
(yay, for ROTJ being a favorite [of Megan]! 🙂 )
p.s. Yes, Obi-wan had something to do with Luke getting off Tatooine, but when you think about it, many of us do get assistance from someone — a parent, a teacher, an aunt, a friend or some stranger you meet along the way — to help us on our way. We don’t necessarily have to go on to do something “great”, but none of do everything on our own. 🙂
