Hello Star Wars Fans and Coffee With Kenobi listeners and bloggers!
One of the things that has changed over the years is how we get our news about that galaxy far, far away. Back in the original trilogy era, from 1977 up to 1985, we got our Star Wars news from the local newspaper, maybe an ad for the films on TV, and maybe a news story on Star Wars from your local news station. When the special edition and prequel era came in, from 1997-1999, it was pretty much the same — but the internet was in its early days, with StarWars.com and online message boards, and it was the early days for fan websites like TheForce.net.
Now it's 2015 and again we are in a new era of Star Wars with the sequel trilogy and the anthology films coming, and with that comes new ways to get Star Wars news like fan websites, podcasts like Coffee With Kenobi, social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.
But with more ways to get news there is a down side with sites having some misinformation and the mainstream media trying to twist and turn some stories about Star Wars around and rumors flying around about the new films. Just try to avoid the sites that have some misinformation and only follow the news about Star Wars from trusted sites such as StarWars.com, Disney.com, reliable Star Wars fan websites, and Star Wars podcasts like Coffee With Kenobi because they will make sure there is no misinformation reported on Star Wars.
This is an exciting time for Star Wars fans, but also be careful of which sites report Star Wars News.
